MAN WITH ELEVEN CHARGES AND A WARRANT FROM MISSISSIPPI TO APPEAR IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY COURT
Christopher Darron Woods, a 44-year-old male, faces multiple criminal and traffic charges in Cumberland County General Sessions Court stemming from a traffic stop on May 27, 2026.
While on Interstate 40 eastbound, Trooper Nicholas Steenbock observed Woods operating a blue 2020 semi-truck with a black trailer that matched a BOLO for unsafe driving (weaving, slow speeds, and nearly forcing another vehicle into the median). Woods was pulled over near mile marker 320.4 for failing to exercise due care and maintain his lane. He admitted to being sleepy, stopped initially in the left lane, and was moved to the shoulder.
During the stop, dispatch confirmed an active felony warrant from De Soto County, Mississippi, for failure to appear on dangerous drugs charges with full extradition. A search of Woods and his vehicle revealed a bottle of synthetic urine on his person, plus additional synthetic urine bottles, multiple bags of clear white powder (suspected methamphetamine), a bag of leafy green substance (suspected marijuana), a glass pipe with residue, a scale, and other drug paraphernalia. He performed unsatisfactorily on standardized field sobriety tests (SFSTs).
The resulting charges include:
- – DUI (first offense)
- – Possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia
- – Move Over Law violation
- – Use/possession of synthetic urine to falsify a drug test
- – Fugitive from justice (felony)
- – Implied consent violation (misdemeanor)
- – Possession of Schedule VI drugs (marijuana) with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell
- – Methamphetamine manufacture, delivery, sale, or possession with intent
- – Driving on roadways laned for traffic
- – Failure to exercise due care.
The cases are listed on the court’s criminal docket for June 4, 2026, with an associated traffic citation appearance date of June 29, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Cumberland County General Sessions Court.
