MAN WITH IDENTITY THEFT, FORGERY, ATTEMPTED THEFT, AND METH CHARGES TO APPEAR IN CUMBERLAND COURT THURSDAY
Bryan Lee Roeker of Mauldin, South Carolina, is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on June 4th on six criminal charges filed February 2, 2026.
He faces charges of identity theft, forgery, criminal simulation, and attempted theft of property valued between $60,000 and $250,000. These stem from an incident on January 28–30, 2026, in which Roeker allegedly used a fraudulent Tennessee driver’s license to attempt to rent an $80,000 piece of heavy equipment (Mini Ex 50) from Tri-County Rental in Crossville. He reportedly submitted a financing application under a false name and was later found in possession of the fake Tennessee license.
In addition, Roeker is charged with possession of methamphetamine (approximately 0.84 grams of a white crystalline substance found in a plastic baggie on his person, which he admitted was methamphetamine) and driving while his license was suspended. The incidents occurred on or about January 30, 2026, in Cumberland County. He was detained in a parking lot near the rental equipment, consented to a search, and was arrested. His South Carolina driver’s license is listed as suspended. Roeker is represented by attorney Howard Upchurch. The cases are tied to officers Keyton Harthun and Matthew Charlock under related case numbers.
