Maxine Boatman Martin, age 84, of Florence, Alabama, formerly of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away at Shoals Hospital. Maxine was devoted to her family, her work for over 40 years with Hibbett Sports, and all things Auburn. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hoover, Alabama, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Beulah Boatman; sister: Cleta Steele; and brother: Carl Boatman. She is survived by her daughters: Lynne Martin (Alana) and Jenny Watts (Tom); sisters: Mary Vandever, Sue Brown, and Anne Turbett; grandchildren: Abby Bauer (Nelson) and Thomas Watts (Wendi); and great-grandchildren: Baylee Grace Bauer, Will Bauer, Henderson Watts, and Hudson Watts.

Special thanks to the caregivers at The Cottage in Florence, Alabama for their care over the last 3 years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Sloan-Kettering Hospital, or Parkinson’s Foundation, all very important causes to Maxine.

A Celebration of Life service for Maxine and her sister Cleta M. Steele will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. central at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville.
