An investigation by the T.B.I. has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Portland, Tennessee, man on a charge of rape of a child. At the request of 18^th District Attorney General Ray Whitley, agents began investigating the report of a sexual assault of a child in Portland. During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that identified 26-year-old Johnny McDaniel as the individual responsible for the sexual assault of a child under the age of 18. The Sumner County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging McDaniel with one count of rape of a child. McDaniel was arrested today and booked into the Sumner County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
