Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an assault charge for an inmate of the McMinn County Jail, in connection to an altercation between two inmates in a holding cell. During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that 24-year-old Jerrod Ivan Jones assaulted the other inmate, who as of this afternoon remained hospitalized and on life support. Agents charged Jones with one count of aggravated assault.
