MEDLEY INDICTED AFTER SETTING DAUGHTER’S WHEELCHAIR ON FIRE

An investigation has led to the indictment of a Pulaski, Tennessee man in connection to a fire that occurred in Giles County earlier this year.

At request of 22nd District Attorney General Brent Cooper, TBI agents joined Tennessee Fire Investigative Services and the Pulaski Police Department in investigating a fire that occurred at a home in the 400 block of Jones Street in Pulaski. A female resident of the home sustained injuries and was transported to the Vanderbilt Burn Center for treatment.

During the course of the investigation, agents determined that 41-year-old Timothy Shane Medley was the individual responsible for starting the fire. Further investigation revealed that Medley used an accelerant to set his daughter’s wheelchair on fire while she was in it.

This week, the Giles County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Medley with aggravated assault, abuse of an adult, felony reckless endangerment, and reckless aggravated assault. Medley was arrested and booked into the Giles County Jail on a $22,000 bond.
