METH IN BODY CAVITY BRINGS FIFTH CHARGE FOR WOMAN ARRESTED IN ROCKWOOD

Just after midnight Sunday, Roane County deputies met Rockwood Police officers with 22-year-old Alexis Brynae Brackett at the sallyport of the Roane County Justice Center.

Before Brackett came into the interlock, deputies asked whether she had any drugs or paraphernalia on her or concealed within her. She said she did not.

Deputies advised if she was found in possession of anything once she entered the facility, she would be charged with introduction of drugs into the facility.

She said she understood and insisted she had nothing on her.

After Brackett was patted down, the arresting officer said she might have drugs on her. Brackett was taken into the bathroom for a strip search. She had a piece of folded paper in a body cavity.

When asked what was folded up in the paper, she admitted it was meth.

Brackett was charged with manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of meth, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession or casual exchange, tampering with or fabricating evidence and introduction of contraband into a penal institution.
