MITCHELL HUNTER OAKES SCHEDULED FOR ARRAIGNMENT ON FIREARM, THEFT, AND METH CHARGES (UPDATED)

Mitchell Hunter Oakes was arrested by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office on July 22, 2025, following the execution of a search warrant at Burgess Drive in Cumberland County. During the search, authorities discovered multiple firearms—including a SCCY CPX-2 9mm handgun with its serial number removed and an H&R revolver marked with Oakes’ name—along with drug paraphernalia, suspected marijuana products, small amounts of white powder believed to be fentanyl, and approximately 0.73 grams of a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Two stolen vehicles were also recovered on the property: a 2015 Ford Explorer valued at around $10,000 and a 2004 Chevy Silverado valued at less than $1,000.

Oakes, a convicted felon, faces several felony and misdemeanor charges filed on April 7, 2026, including violation of an order of protection involving a firearm, theft of property valued between $10,000 and $60,000, altering or possessing items with defaced serial numbers, two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, simple possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and possession or casual exchange of methamphetamine.

He is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on May 12, 2026, at 8:00 AM in Cumberland County Circuit Court and is represented by attorney Ramon Damas.
