Mitchell Hunter Oakes was arrested by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office on July 22, 2025. He is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on May 12, 2026, at 8:00 AM in Cumberland County Circuit Court, represented by attorney Ramon Damas.

Oakes faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges filed on April 7, 2026, including violation of an order of protection involving possession of a firearm, theft of property valued between $10,000 and $60,000, altering or possessing items with defaced permanent distinguishing numbers, two counts of possession of a weapon (including a handgun) by a convicted felon, simple possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and possession or casual exchange of methamphetamine.
