On Monday, April 21st the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives along with assistance from the 10th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a Narcotics related search warrant in the Gamble Gap area of Tellico Plains. Detectives discovered approximately 4.0 grams of Fentanyl poison. Multiple firearms and other illegal narcotics related items were also recovered.

Later in the afternoon the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives along with assistance from the 10th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Vonore Police Department executed a second Narcotics related search warrant in the Brakebill Road community of Vonore where Detectives were able to locate and seize more than 20 grams of the suspected Fentanyl poison, along with multiple other narcotics related items including cash currency.

During the two incidents 9 individuals find themselves in custody at the Monroe County Justice Center for various drug charges.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Narcotics Division understands the importance of removing these dangerous drugs from the Monroe County community and remain dedicated to the War on Drugs.
