MONTEREY TRAFFIC SIGNALIZATION UPGRADES WILL HAVE TO WAIT
It appears that the City of Monterey will place traffic signalization upgrades on the back-burner for a while. Officials say that the city cannot afford the $700,000 funding for the project at this time. Mayor Bill Wiggins says that it could be 2020 before any action could be taken. The Tennessee Dept. of Transportation recommended the changes after conducting a traffic audit in the area. Wiggins did say that recommended changes of railroad crossing markings will be taking place in the near future.
