MONTGOMERY COUNTY SCHOOL BUS CATCHES FIRE WITH STUDENTS ABOARD

A Clarksville-Montgomery County School Bus school bus caught fire while 20 students were on board Thursday morning. No students were injured in the fire, which happened on Southside Road. Twenty students from Montgomery Central Middle School and Montgomery Central High School were on the bus. Bus driver Brittany Sigears quickly jumped into action to evacuate the children. “We take pride in the safety training and protocols we have in place and commend Ms. Sigears for her conscientiousness in protecting our students,” said Schools Director Millard House II in a news release. This is not the school bus that the students regularly took to school. Their bus, #806, hit a deer on Wednesday and was out of commission. All students were transferred to another bus and were dropped off at their schools. The fire remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the CMCSS Transportation staff.
