More information has been released on the fatal accident which claimed the life of a Kentucky woman in Rockwood Sunday. Authorities and First Responders were called to North Gateway Ave. and Strang St. around 9 AM, where a Toyota Rav4 was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer rig at the traffic light. The impact sent the vehicle across both southbound lanes and onto the sidewalk where it came to rest. The driver of the Dodge, 56-year-old Dawn Schmidt of Rineyville, KY, was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. The driver of the rig was uninjured. Traffic in the area had to be detoured for nearly two hours until the investigation was concluded.
