MORE DISPATCHERS REQUESTED FOR CUMBERLAND CO. E-911 CENTER

During the Crossville City Council work session this week, Cumberland County E-911 Dispatch Director Rodney Shoap spoke about the city possibly funding one full time dispatcher. The county commission recently said they would fund two if the county chipped in for one. The council will add the matter to their regularly scheduled meeting next week. The E-911 center is understaffed and the number of calls so far speak volumes. For this year to date, nearly 60,000 calls have come in to the center. That is up 5,000 for this time last year.
