The Morgan County Courthouse is slated for consideration by the Tennessee State Review Board during its upcoming public meeting on Friday, September 18, 2026. The 12-member board will evaluate the courthouse alongside 10 other statewide properties to determine if they meet the criteria for the prestigious National Register of Historic Places.

The hybrid meeting begins at 9 a.m. CDT and will take place both in person at the Tennessee Historical Commission offices at 2941 Lebanon Pike in Nashville and virtually, with access details posted on the THC State Review Board webpage. If the board approves the nomination, it will advance to the U.S. Department of the Interior for final federal review.

Authorized under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Register program recognizes buildings, sites, and structures significant to American history and architecture.
