The Tennessee Highway Patrol and medics responded to a motorcycle accident just after 7 p.m. last night on Bear Creek Road in Cumberland County. Troopers say a 2011 Harley Davidson operated by 46-year-old Michael Hammons of Crossville was traveling west when he failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle went over on its side and struck a fence and pole. Hammons was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported to Cumberland Medical Center then flown by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
