MOTORCYCLIST NEARLY HIT BY TRACTOR-TRAILER FOLLOWING ACCIDENT
A motorcyclist was fortunate he was not hit by a tractor-trailer Friday on I-40 after being involved in a crash in Roane County. A 2018 Harley Davidson operated by 50-year-old Russell Balchin of South Carolina was traveling at the 343 mile marker when he contacted a guardrail. The Harley went down and started to slide on the interstate. A 2016 Kenworth operated by 48-year-old David Johnson, Jr. of Oklahoma swerved to avoid striking Balchin and overturned. Johnson was unhurt and Balchin received treatment for injuries sustained.
