MULTI-COUNTY PURSUIT ENDS WITH SUSPECT CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER

A multi-county high speed pursuit yesterday ended with the suspect, 30-year-old Joshua Brennon Wilson of Kingsport, charged with attempted murder.

It started in Warren County when a deputy attempted to pull over a GMC Yukon towing a U-Haul trailer operated by Wilson. He stopped and supposedly gave law enforcement someone else’s identification. Wilson then sped off and a chase started.

Wilson reportedly attempted to strike the deputy with the vehicle, resulting in the attempted murder charge.

The pursuit would involve Van Buren, White and eventually Putnam County. It ended on Highway 136 where Wilson got stuck in a field.

He faces other charges of reckless endangerment, evading arrest, and criminal impersonation. He is being held without bond.

Authorities say Wilson has warrants in White and Sullivan County.
