MURFREESBORO GUN STORE CLERKS CHASE TEEN THIEVES, HOLD THEM AT GUNPOINT
You have to be a special kind of reckless to attempt to steal from a gun store. That’s what 21-year-old Even Bell and 19-year-old J’Darrius Rice, both of Chattanooga, learned Tuesday afternoon, when they went into a Murfreesboro gun shop, grabbed two weapons and fled.
Clerks in the store, all armed, gave chase and held the pair at gunpoint until officers arrived on the scene. The incident was captured on the store’s surveillance video.
Bell was charged with incriminating impersonation; Rice was charged with theft of property. The two had reportedly stolen from the same shop on another occasion.
In all, four suspects were arrested. The other two suspects, both 17 and also from Chattanooga, were charged with theft of property and taken to the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Facility
Police have confirmed an investigation is ongoing; more arrests are possible.
