The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a report late last night of a fatal accident in Kingston yesterday. The report states a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria driven by 96-year-old Josephine E. Farr of Kingston was attempting to turn left onto Patton Lane from Highway 70 in front of a 2000 Buick Regal driven by 71-year-old Betty T. Smith of Kingston. Smith struck Farr resulting in Farr going off Highway 70 into Watts Bar Lake. The vehicle was completely submerged and many citizens attempted to free Farr from her vehicle but were unsuccessful. Farr was pronounced deceased at the scene. Smith and a passenger in her vehicle, 30-year-old Amber N. Smith of Kingston, were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained.
