NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ISSUES FLOOD WATCH
The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH from 7 a.m. central Saturday, March 27, 2021 and is scheduled to expire at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2021. It covers all of middle and eastern Tennessee.
Multiple rounds of heavy rain will cause excessive rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts of 4 to 5 inches, of additional rainfall to already saturated ground conditions. Runoff impacts could last through afternoon hours on Sunday.
Heavy rainfall along with potentially high rainfall rates will cause excess runoff and localized flash flooding in the watch area, including quick rises on area rivers and creeks.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
