Hot air continues its grip on the Cumberland Plateau and in the valley.

The National Weather Service is calling for a record high of 91 degrees in Crossville tomorrow for the last day of September (Monday, September 30, 2019). The high is projected to be 90 for the first day of October. It will flirt with 90 for a high temperature until Thursday when an approaching weather system is expected to being a brief chance of rain and welcomed more seasonable temperatures. (78 projected high for Saturday, October 5, 2019).

In the valley this week, it will be worse.

Highs Monday is projected to be 93 to 94 degrees. It will maintain that through Thursday when temperatures will ease back into the lower 80’s for highs.

If you are outside, be sure to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. Weather like this can easily cause heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
