NELSON ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG CHARGE

A Cumberland County deputy initiated a traffic stop last night on Westel Road for having no working tail lights. The arrest report states when the officer asked a passenger, 24-year-old Winston Anthony Nelson of Harriman, if he had anything illegal, Nelson allegedly responded he had a couple of needles for injections in his pocket. He then reportedly pulled out a plastic parcel containing just over 15 grams of meth from the front of his pants. Authorities noted a digital scale located in the vehicle.

After the deputy informed him of his Miranda rights, Nelson supposedly said he had sold narcotics for two months and had thee customers hat were consistent. Law enforcement seized the suspects cell phone along with other evidence in the case.

Nelson was transported to the Cumberland County jail for felony manufacture, sale and delivery of meth. He was initially placed under a $15,000 bond.
