New officials will be taking their place in Cumberland County today. Those winning public offices in August will officially be sworn in today by County mayor Kenny Carey Jr. David Simcox retained his position as Assessor of Property. New County Commissioners are Sue Ann York, and John Patterson Jr. Taking their place on the school board will be Rob Safdie, Josh Stone, Tom Netherton, Teresa Boston and Aretie Patterson. The ceremony will be held at 4 PM in the large courtroom at the county courthouse on Main Street. All family members and friends are invited.
