The Rockwood City Council approved allowing Mayor Jason Jolly to enter negotiations with a group out of Knoxville called Rockwood Aviation LLC. , to negotiate their plan to operate the Rockwood Airport.

Three members of the LLC were in attendance at the Rockwood City Council meeting last night to listen to the council and see if they were approved to start the talks with the city to move forward.

Comments made during the end of the meeting from Mayor Jolly and the council indicated that this move by The Rockwood Airport steering committee to recommend turning over the management of the airport to The Rockwood Aviation LLC company, would be in the best interest of the city and big plans are being made and they are excited about how it will benefit to the city for them to manage the airport.

All of the details were not given at this time but Mayor Jolly did state that a major announcement will be forthcoming in the next week or so as the group wants to begin operations on July 1st this year, We will keep you updated on this major announcement to come.
