NEW TRIAL DATE SET FOR FORMER ROANE COUNTY ATTORNEY NOW SEX OFFENDER
A trial date for a former Roane County attorney now sex offender has been delayed again because of the coronavirus pandemic. Court officials say 65-year-old Kent Booher faces sex trafficking of a minor, attempted production of child pornography and enticement. Booher was originally indicted by a federal grand jury for enticement and a sexual offense against a minor while on a sex offender registry. The Tennessee Supreme Court disbarred Booher after he plead guilty on two counts of statutory rape in Loudon County in 2014. He also faces state charges of violating the sex offender registry and solicitation of a minor. His new trial date is September 15, 2020. He is currently being held in the Blount County jail.
