NOLAND ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES ON ROANE STATE HIGHWAY IN ROCKWOOD
Friday afternoon, a Roane County school resource officer saw a vehicle on Roane State Highway in Rockwood that appeared stuck in an excavated section of roadway in a construction zone. Central Dispatch advised the vehicle’s listed owner was 54-year-old Evelyn Renita Noland, who had an active failure-to-appear warrant in Roane County.
Deputies approached Noland and two female passengers. When asked if the vehicle contained any illegal items, both passengers declared several hypodermic syringes and various paraphernalia. Noland admitted having a small bag of meth and a plastic bag with seven 300 mg Gabapentin capsules. A consent search turned up no other illegal substances.
Noland was arrested on the outstanding warrant, along with simple possession of meth and possession of legend drugs without a prescription.
