OAK RIDGE PLANNING FOR NEW AIRPORT
Oak Ridge is planning for a new 5,000-foot runway airport to be located at the East Tennessee Technology Center off of the Oak Ridge Turnpike. Officials say the cost of the airport would range between $30 and $40 million dollars. Oak Ridge City Manager Mark Watson says he is working with the Federal Aviation Administration to see how the airport could be put into play. Watson says it would be a Class B airport, which normally has airspace up to about 10,000 feet.
