OAK RIDGE POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS “ONLINE” ACTIVITY

Oak Ridge Police investigated an online activity Monday which turned out to be no credible threat. Early Monday, the Oak Ridge Police Department was notified about some Internet chat room activity that raised their level of concern. After investigating the alleged activity, officers determined there was no threat. The police department coordinated with Oak Ridge Schools to relay this information. Officers maintained a strong presence at all schools Monday and at no time do officers believe that any Oak Ridge facility was in any danger. An investigation is underway. No other information will be released at this time.
