OAKDALE TEEN PASSES AWAY AFTER FALLING OUT OF A TRUCK

A Morgan County teenager passed away after falling out of a bed of a pickup truck. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 14-year-old Zachary Manis of Oakdale was riding in the back of the truck when he fell off the left side of the truck. Manis was transported to Roane Medical Center in Harriman where he was initially listed in critical condition but later passed away. Troopers say a 13-year-old boy was also riding in the bed of the truck and had minor injuries. Officers say the driver, 35-year-old Scott Whited, was not injured and was not restrained at the time of the incident. Troopers say charges are pending as it is still under investigation.
