OFFICER WITNESSED DRIVER TRYING TO GET ON INTERSTATE IN WRONG DIRECTION

On Tuesday, a Crossville city police officer observed a silver Honda Accord traveling down the off-ramp for westbound lanes for Interstate 40 at exit 317. The vehicle started going eastbound in the westbound lanes before backing up, stopping in the middle of the ramp, and trying to go back in the correct direction of traffic.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, where the driver identified himself as 40-year-old Miguel Domingo. He had no driver’s license or any type of identification on his person. The officer observed an open can of Michelob Ultra that was half empty in the passenger seat. While trying to conduct a Field Sobriety Test, it was unsuccessful since the subject did not speak English.

Mr. Domingo did pass a Preliminary Breath Test.

He was cited for Open Container and was taken into custody for Reckless Endangerment and having No Driver’s License.
