‘TENNESSEE THREE’ SET TO MEET WITH PRESIDENT BIDEN AT WHITE HOUSE MONDAY

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced in a Wednesday briefing that Representatives Justin Jones (D-Nashville), Justin Pearson (D-Memphis), and Gloria Johnson (D-Knoxville) will meet with the President at the White House Monday.

The lawmakers who call themselves the ‘Tennessee Three’, joined in protest at the Tennessee Capitol for gun safety laws following the shooting that killed three adults and three children at the Covenant School in Nashville.

Two of the three Representatives were expelled but have since been reappointed by the Metro Nashville Council and the Shelby County Board of Commissioners.

When asked whether victims or families who were affected by the Covenant School shooting had been invited to Washington, Jean-Pierre declined to comment.

President Biden spoke to the three Democrats earlier this month and thanked them for their leadership in seeking to ban assault weapons and for standing up for democratic values.
