OFFICIALS MEET WITH FRONTIER COMMUNCATIONS REGARDING COMPLAINTS

The complaints regarding the service Frontier Communications offers their customers was the subject of a recent meeting with elected officials. Those in attendance included Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster, Crossville City Mayor James Mayberry, Senator Paul Bailey and U.S. Representative John Rose.

The complaints against Frontier’s landline and broadband services are numerous and all of the elected officials at the meeting indicated that to Frontier representatives. The complaints are severe in many cases. Some involve elderly customers who rely on Frontier for landline phone services in case of medical emergencies.

The low broadband speeds are another main complaint issue with Frontier customers.

Frontier officials appeared to have no definitive answer to the complaints. It comes off an announcement that Frontier is planning to file for bankruptcy within the next two months. The reason is placed on the company looking a $16 billion in long-term debt.

However, it was not good enough for Senator Paul Bailey who has introduced a bill for consideration to create a penalty of up to $15,000 per customer for telecommunication companies not delivering services they advertise.

Frontier officials said they will do a better job in keeping counties informed of how they intend to correct the problems.
