OFFICIALS WARN OF FAKE STREAMING SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL SCAM

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is warning citizens about fake streaming subscription notifications.

Officials say emails or texts from scammers will say that one of your streaming services is being canceled. To avoid cancelation, scammers ask for money immediately.

The Better Business Bureau advises you to double-check your account status before sending payments or clicking any links.

There are ways to see if the message is fake.

Look for any kind of grammatical errors or signs that this could be a fake email. Usually, the BBB finds a series of numbers and letters or some string of grammatical errors that show them someone is trying to replicate the message.

You should never give out personal information, and report any scams that you come across.
