The Oliver Springs Fire Department would like to thank the Anderson County Commission and Anderson County EMS for five new AEDs that were placed in service.

This will allow all Oliver Springs Fire Department vehicles to be equipped with an AED.

An automated external defibrillator or automatic electronic defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It’s a sophisticated medical device that can analyze the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.
