FRIDAY PLANE CRASH PILOT IDENTIFIED

UPDATE:

The Pilot of the plane that crashed near Crossville on Friday has been identified as Joshua Hertz, 36 of Peachtree City, GA. His plane left from Falcon Field in Peachtree City, fueled up in Crossville and had intended to go to Chicago.

ORIGINAL STORY:

An investigation into the plane crash in Fentress County near Crossville has resulted in the discovery of a dead body recovered from the crash site, as reported by Fentress County Emergency Management Agency Director James Bilbrey. The pilot, so far, is reported to have been the only one on board.

A spokesperson from the National Transportation Safety Board told news sources a Cessna 150F crashed around 10:22 a.m. about 20 miles Northwest of Crossville. The aircraft’s wreckage was found by State Troopers in the area of Skinner Mountain Wildlife Management.

The body was taken to UT Medical Center for identification as the NTSB continues its investigation.
