ONE DEAD IN CLINTON MOBILE HOME FIRE MONDAY

One man died in a fire Monday evening that destroyed a home at 320 Lakefront Mobile Home Park.

Harold Dean Bray, who owned the singlewide trailer, died in the blaze, which broke out shortly after 7 p.m., according to Clinton Police Department Fire Investigator Jason Stokes.

The mobile-home park is off State Highway 61, across from the Clinton Church of God.

Stokes said firefighters arrived at the home by 7:18 and had the fire put out within ten minutes. The Clinton Fire Department, State Fire Marshal’s Office and Clinton Police Department all responded. Crews reportedly remained onsite until about 11 p.m. to investigate the blaze.

The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of Bray’s death, but Stokes said the death came about as a result of the fire – which was linked to oxygen tanks Bray kept in the home for medical reasons.

Bray was the only occupant of the trailer. No firefighters were injured battling the blaze.
