A head-on vehicle accident in Meigs County very early this morning (Wednesday, August 30, 2017) resulted in a fatality. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2008 Dodge driven by 21-year-old Justin W. Cox of Decatur, Tennessee collided with an oncoming 2002 Nissan driven by 28-year-old Brittney L. Kyker of Decatur on Highway 58 just after the midnight hour. Officers say both vehicles drifted over the center line. Troopers say Kyker was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. Two passengers in Kyker’s vehicle, 47-year-old Maudie M. Greene of Sweetwater and 23-year-old Amber J. Fowler of Etowah, were injured in the crash. Cox was also hurt. All three were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
