ONE FLOWN TO AREA TRAUMA CENTER AFTER CRASH ON HWY 127 SOUTH IN CUMBERLAND CO.
A single vehicle accident just before 2 p.m. today on Highway 127 South near Vandever Road in Cumberland County injured two. Trooper Jeremy Newcome says a 2017 Buick Enclave driven by 73-year-old Patricia Guthrie of Crossville was traveling north when she appeared to have a medical issue. The vehicle went off the road near a bridge, down an embankment, hit several rocks and came to rest after impacting a tree. Patricia Guthrie was extricated from the vehicle by crews from the Cumberland County Fire Department and transported by air medical to an area trauma center. A passenger in the vehicle, 79-year-old Ronald Guthrie of Crossville also sustained injuries in the crash.
