ONE HURT IN VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON I-40 IN ROANE COUNTY

A vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Roane County today resulted in an injury. Troopers say a 2013 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 28-year-old Shealyn Plank of Chesapeake, Virginia was traveling west at the 357 mile marker when she was distracted by a bug in the vehicle. Plank tried to remove it and took her eyes off the interstate resulting in her leaving the road and striking a cable barrier. Plank was injured in the accident. Another adult and four children inside the vehicle escaped injury. Plank was cited for failure to exercise due care.
