Cumberland County medics and deputies responded late yesterday to a residence on Herbert Houston Road in the Linary area for a shooting. Sheriff Casey Cox told 105.7 News this morning the victim, identified as J.C. Hancock, sustained an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg. A Lifeforce air medical helicopter landed at Linary Church of Christ to transport Hancock to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment. Sheriff Cox said Hancock was later released from the hospital and is recovering from the incident.
