Rockwood medics and police responded to Highway 27 in front of Walmart yesterday afternoon for a two vehicle accident. According to Rockwood Police, a car driven by 58-year-old Sharon McElhaney of Rockwood was leaving the shopping center, turned onto the highway and was struck by a Chevy Silverado driven by 68-year-old Franklin Fitzgerald of Rockwood. Police say both driver stated they had the green light. McElhaney was taken to the hospital by ambulance and Fitzgerald was not hurt in the crash.
