ONE KILLED IN VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON I-40 IN ROANE COUNTY
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a man lost his life in a two vehicle accident on I-40 in Roane County early this afternoon. The report states a 2010 Ford F-150 driven by 64-year-old Myron King of Knoxville crossed over the center line at the 345 westbound mile marker and contacted a 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by 63-year-old Charles Witt of Old Hickory, Tennessee. Witt lost control, went off the road and hit a guard rail. The tractor-trailer then went down an embankment and hit a tree. Witt passed away from injuries sustained. King and a passenger in his vehicle, 58-year-old Dana King, escaped injury. Traffic was backed up at the scene to the Kingston exit at one point.
