The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to two accidents nearly at the same time early this afternoon at the 316 mile marker of I-40 in Cumberland County. Trooper Jeremy Newcome says a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by 44-year-old Ramon Luis Rodriguez Velazquez of Dallas, Texas rear ended a 2020 Toyota Camry driven by 50-year-old Scott Ray Manley from Metropolis, Illinois. Both drivers were restrained and not hurt in the crash. Velazquez was charged with following too close. The report of the second accident will be released at a later time.
