A vehicle accident on Firetower Road leading up to Mt. Roosevelt in western Roane County today claimed one life. The West Roane County Fire Department, Roane County Emergency Management Agency, Roane County Sheriff’s Department and Roane County Rescue Squad all responded. The road was closed for several hours as the accident was investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The name of the person killed is being withheld, pending notification of kin.
