Cumberland County deputies, firefighters and medical first responders went to the scene of a near head-on crash on the 4200 block of Mayland Road north of Pleasant Hill late yesterday afternoon. Deputies say a 2002 Toyota van and a Jeep Liberty collided on a curve in the road. The van came to rest in a ditch and the Jeep came to rest in a field. Officers say a total of two adults and five children were involved in the accident. One injury was reported. A child was transported to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Officers say all the children were property restrained in car seats at the time of impact. The accident was investigated by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
