A 34-year-old local resident was taken into custody on July 18 after a tip led authorities to discover he was wanted on sex offense charges in Georgia.

According to an incident report from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Ronald Fields responded to a call regarding a male guest staying at a residence on the 1200 block of Browntown Road. The caller reported that the man had outstanding warrants from Georgia and stated she was afraid of him.

After receiving permission from the homeowner to enter, Deputy Fields located the suspect inside a back bedroom. The individual initially refused to identify himself. However, after being permitted to speak with his mother over the phone, the mother confirmed his identity as Brandon Shayne Sullins (DOB: 01/19/1992).

A national database check (NCIC) confirmed that Sullins had active warrants out of Floyd County, Georgia, for Public Indecency and Solicitation of Sodomy.
