OUTSIDE BURNING NOT RECOMMENDED IN AREA
Forestry officials in Tennessee and Kentucky are issuing a special advisory regarding any outside burining. The advisory is in response to critical fire weather conditions, with temperatures approaching 80 degrees, low relative humidity, gusty southwest winds, and plenty of dry fuel.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Much of the area is under a red flag warning. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. The NWS says a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Already this morning, several brush fires have been reported.
