OVER $2,000 IN LARCENY AT MAYLAND RD RESIDENCE

On April 2, 2025, Fairfield Glade Police Officer Joshua Matthews was approached by a man at Mayland Rd who reported that his father’s residence had been completely emptied of belongings, including clothing and personal items, while his father was hospitalized.

The man, who has legal power of attorney over his father, also noted that some of his own possessions, specifically a black gun safe valued at $950 and an older Excel 12-gauge shotgun valued at $1,200, were missing. He had arrived to check on the property, for which he had paid rent through the end of April, and found it vacated without explanation.

He suspected a woman living at the residence, whom he had seen removing items days earlier, might be responsible, possibly with assistance from another individual from the Livingston area. He believed her actions could be motivated by anger over his decision to place his father in hospice care. Attempts to contact her were unsuccessful, and the landlord was also unaware of why the property had been cleared.

The man planned to compile a full list of his father’s missing items.

While a suspect was named by the complainant, no charges have been filed as of yet.
