PASSENGER ARRESTED FOR FELONY METH POSSESSION DURING EXCESSIVE-SPEED TRAFFIC STOP

While conducting a traffic stop for excessive speed on Taylor’s Chapel Road, Cumberland County deputies asked the passenger, 38-year-old Jamie Lynn Roberts of Sparta, to step outside for a search of the vehicle consented to by the driver. Roberts’ purse was found to contain small amounts of both meth and marijuana. She also had a tool pouch inside her bra that contained more marijuana and meth.

The driver was issued citations for a half-smoked marijuana cigarette and two digital scales in his possession. Roberts was arrested and charged with simple possession and felony possession of a Schedule II drug. She was placed under $22,000 bond and is due to appear in court April 8.
